Gamble Ramble: Betting The Raiders In NFL Week 10 Against The Colts

It’s time for another Gamble Ramble! We haven’t had much luck lately, as the Las Vegas Raiders have been failing to meet even the lowest of expectations. Let’s see if we can find a way to make some money this week as the Raiders take on the Indianapolis Colts. All lines come via Draft Kings as of Saturday night.

Smartest Bet: Colts Moneyline (+175)

Sorry, folks, but the best bet you can make this week is to take the Colts straight up. All week, everyone has been talking non-stop about how terrible the Jeff Saturday hire is. You’ve got people like Josh Dubow from the Associated Press Tweeting that the Colts lack an NFL starting quarterback, head coach, and play-caller. In the NFL, almost every time we think we are certain about something, Sunday’s result comes along and defies all logic and reason. This is especially true for the Raiders.

By the way, things are pretty rough in Vegas right now as well. Two of their top offensive weapons have just been placed on injured reserve despite neither seeming to have significant injuries. Also, a starting linebacker decided to retire mid-season. Finally, Davante Adams is already making cryptic statements to the media. The Raiders are just as much of a dumpster fire as the Colts are right now. This game is probably a toss-up, so take the value pick with the Colts.

Safest Bet: Raiders K Daniel Carlson OVER 1.5 Made Field Goals (-140)

If they are going to continue to set the line at 1.5, you should take the over every single week. It doesn’t matter how bad the Raiders’ offense has looked, what kind of game this might be, or any other factors you can think of. All that matters is that Daniel Carlson is automatic.

Best Risky Bet: Alec Pierce to Score (+425)

Full disclosure: I’m an Alec Pierce fan. He is on one of my fantasy teams. Pierce is essentially the Colts’ WR3. He has, however, carved out a significant role in the offense. The Raiders’ passing defense has looked rough this year. He could sneak into an opening in Patrick Graham’s Charmin Ultra-Soft coverage schemes. At +425, the value on this one is terrific as well.
