For the San Antonio Spurs, there is no place like home

Click your heels three times…or get on a jet

This was a particularly rough Rodeo Road Trip. The Spurs won one game. They are 22-7 at home. Compared to their 11-22 road record, the Spurs have 12 home games and 8 road games left and one of the more amenable schedules in the league. That said, they did get blown away by a team trying to tank.

Will the Spurs miss the playoffs for the first time this millennium? Who knows, but it takes one game at a time and tonight the Spurs take on the Detroit Pistons who rank higher in the East than the Spurs do in the West (Detroit is 7th to the Spurs 8th) while having a worse record, and a losing one at that.

My father-in-law, a Michigander and Piston fans, lands at San Antonio International this morning and we will sit at opposite ends of the couch. Only one of us will end his first night in town happy.

This time it better be me.

Go Spurs Go!
