Football Tom Brady used to throw first NFL touchdown pass going to auction
The football that former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady used to throw his first career touchdown pass is hitting the auction block on Sunday, Lelands Auctions said, per 7 News Boston.
Brady tossed his first-ever touchdown pass on Oct. 14, 2001 in a comeback win over the San Diego Chargers at Gillette Stadium. The then 24-year-old hit Terry Glenn on a 21-year-old score.
After celebrating his touchdown, Glenn tossed the ball into the stands, where it was grabbed by a season-ticket holder who has held onto it ever since.
The seller isn’t sure how much the football will fetch. Lelands previously sold the infamous Deflategate football for $43,740 in July 2015.
This is an excellent time to sell Brady memorabilia as his rookie card recently sold for $2.25 million in April. Brady memorabilia has skyrocketed in price since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback won his seventh Super Bowl title last season.
