Determining who Spurs fans will root for in the Western Conference Finals

If you had money on the number one team making it to the Finals this year, then you are probably avoiding some debtors this week.

If you doubled down the minute Kawhi went out with an injury, then your were sorely mistaken. In fact, it doesn’t appear he was even present for the game on Friday night to root his team on, something Spurs fans can relate to.

A Paul George led Clippers (on the coattails of Terance Mann) have made the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history. Game 1 kicks off tonight against a well-rested Phoenix Suns.

Phoenix has a well-documented rivalry with the San Antonio Spurs. Of course, the Los Angeles Clippers have a roster spot belonging to a Spurs ex-pat. Although his participation in this series is undetermined (and optional if the last two games are revealing of the non-Leonard Clippers), Spurs fans still have to chose a team for which to root, if rooting for anyone is on the table.

So who’s it going to be, Pounders?
