DeMar DeRozan pays tribute to his late father

San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan has revealed that his father, Frank DeRozan, has passed away. The sad news comes after Frank had been battling deteriorating health conditions for several years. DeMar shared the following tribute to his father on Instagram:

“Words won’t serve justice to what you meant to me. Never missed a game, a practice, a opportunity to show me what a great father was. You pushed me my whole life to be able to withstand the roughest of times. Never seen you complain nor fold. All I cared about was making you proud. Over the past 3 years I seen you display the ultimate measure of a man fighting to the end. Wish I could tell you thank you one last time. Rest well Big Dog! Love you Dad.”

DeMar missed the Spurs’ January 10 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves to go visit his father. He is currently in quarantine in Charlotte with the rest of the Spurs due to positive COVID-19 cases among the team. Hopefully he will be able to reunite with his family and properly mourn his father’s passing with family soon.
