Daryl Morey: Sixers Will Retain Doc Rivers As Head Coach

The Philadelphia 76ers will retain Doc Rivers as head coach next season, according to Daryl Morey.

“I just think he’s a great coach and I love working with him,” said Morey.

The Sixers were eliminated from the playoffs in Game 6, leading to speculation that they could make a change with Rivers. The Sixers hired Rivers in October 2020 before they later hired Morey to run the front office.

Rivers has also been linked with the vacancy with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“We’re sick we’re here,” said Morey. “We have big aspirations for the team, I know the fans do, too … that’s why we’re here. That’s why we do this. It’s tough to be here right now.”
