Cyclist suffers compound fracture after hit-and-run, suspect on the loose

San Antonio police say a man on a bike was hit by a car and suffered a compound fracture to his leg early Sunday morning on the far South Side.

According to authorities, the driver did not stop to help the man after hitting him at around 1:06 a.m.

The victim was found in the middle of the street at 300 E. Amber Place after a witness called the police.

He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in stable condition. Police found the license plate of car at the scene and hope to make an arrest.
