Countdown to Spring begins at Palo Alto College

The start of a new semester always brings enthusiasm and excitement as current and future students work towards attaining their educational goals. As we prepare for the Spring semester and the new year, we look forward to serving our students on-site and in person.

To help our community get registered in a timely manner, we are hosting a series of enrollment events called “Countdown to College” where faculty and staff will be on hand to help students complete the enrollment process.

Countdown to College will be held on Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Jan. 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Palomino Center. Our team of certified advisors will be ready to help new and returning students with their admission and financial aid applications, payment plans, class registration, and more. Plus, there will be hourly giveaways, door prizes, and games.

Also relaunching in Spring 2022 is the PAC Advantage Program — a strategic initiative designed to empower students with a personalized “student success team” as they prepare to enroll. Students who enroll through the PAC Advantage Program will benefit from an assigned Certified Enrollment Coach to assist in the admissions process, an assigned Certified Advisor to support degree completion, a dedicated Certified Career Navigator by career path, an assigned tutor liaison, and access to free additional resources including child care, clothes closet, personal counseling, and the food pantry.

At Palo Alto College, our focus is to ensure students complete their educational goals so they may ultimately enter high-wage, high-demand careers that will lead to upward mobility. We encourage any individuals looking to achieve a degree or certificate at a first-rate institution, to contact our Welcome Center at 210-486-3100 or visit us online at alamo.edu/pac.

Robert Garza, Ph.D., is president of Palo Alto College, part of the Alamo Colleges District.
