“As a former transportation planner, I am thrilled to serve on NLC’s Transportation & Infrastructure Committee,” Sandoval in a release.”San Antonio has made great strides in infrastructure and transportation policies in recent years, but we need federal action to truly address our needs. I look forward to advocating for our community and communities across the nation.”

The NLC said Sandoval and her committee colleagues are important in advocating for their communities at home and before Congress and the presidential administration.

NLC President Kathy Maness, a councilwoman in Lexington, S.C. said she is “proud” to have Sandoval on board to help solve challenges facing the 19,000 U.S. cities and towns represented by the advocacy group.

“Our federal advocacy committees are the voices of what’s happening on the ground in our communities,” she added.

Appointments were considered through an application process, according to the NLC website.
