City ‘Trying To Bring’ Former Chelsea Target To The Etihad As They Eye Zinchenko Replacement
Manchester City are interested in signing Atalanta wingback Robin Gosens in the summer, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Italian website claims the Citizens are “trying to bring” the German international to the Etihad Stadium, after making an enquiry about the 26-year-old’s availability.
Gosens was heavily linked with Chelsea last summer before the Blues signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester instead and he is certainly the type of fullback that manager Pep Guardiola would be after.
This campaign, the German has scored an impressive nine goals and provided eight assists in 30 appearances for Atalanta. He is just one goal shy of the 10 he managed last campaign.
City’s interest in Gosens may spell the end of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s time at the club, though, with TMW suggesting that the Manchester club will listen to offers for the Ukrainian international. That would be a surprising development considering the player has featured regularly since the New Year.
