City And United Join Pursuit Of 22 Year Old Who Has Been Ripping Up The Championship This Season

Manchester City and Manchester United have joined the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal in the battle to sign Brighton defender Ben White, according to reports in the English media.

The 22-year-old is believed to have caught the Citizens’ attention after his standout displays for Leeds during his loan spell with the Championship side this season.

White has featured prominently for Marcelo Bielsa’s team, making 37 league appearances as the Whites sit top of the table.

Leeds are said to be keen on keeping the centre-back on a permanent basis but Brighton are believed to want the player back at the Amex ahead of next campaign.

White does have the ability to play in midfield, as well as at the back, and his composure on the ball is no doubt one of the main reasons why City have been tracking him.

Reinforcing the centre of defence will be the club’s top priority when the transfer window reopens and White could be a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s style of play.
