The Chicago Bulls new head coach Fred Hoiberg wants to add San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Jim Boylen to his coaching staff. The Bulls want to offer Spurs assistant coach Jim Boylen the lead assistant coaching position. Jim Boylen has been with the Spurs since 2013, the team values Boylen and looks to keep him. The attractive offer from the Bulls could prove to be something Jim Boylen just can’t pass up. With the addition of Ettore Messina to the Spurs coaching staff last year Jim Boylen lost his position as the lead assistant. The San Antonio Spurs have given permission to the Chicago Bulls to speak with Jim Boylen. It would not be surprising to see Jim Boylen accept the job with the Chicago Bulls soon and leave the Spurs coaching staff. Even if Jim Boylen was to leave the Spurs still have a solid coaching staff with Ime Udoka and the addition of both Ettore Messina and Becky Hammon. The San Antonio Spurs will have nothing to worry about but Jim Boylen will surely be missed.
