‘Big Loss’ ‘This Is The Worst News I’ve Ever Heard’ Fans React To Claims That City Star Has Decided To Leave

Manchester City captain Fernandinho will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to reports in England.
The 35-year-old is said to have told friends that he is not expecting to be given another contract extension, but he has no intention of retiring, with a return to Brazil or a spell in the United States the main two options on the table.
Fernandinho would have spent eight years at City by next July. During that period he has won nine major trophies and supporters on Twitter are very disappointed by the news that he could be leaving:

Great player. Knew the mechanics of midfield defending but also skilful moving forward. At 35 right decision. Will go down as City legend.

Would be rly sad to see him go if it happens. Dinho was an absolute tank in his best days and will go down as one of the most important signings weโve made over the last decade. Can only wish him the best for whatever he decides to do next.

An absolute colossus of a Player. Every right to choose his own future of course but will be missed every bit as much as Yaya, Zabba, Vinny and David ๐ช

It remains to be seen whether these reports are accurate. Fernandinho was handed a one-year contract extension last summer and you canโt rule out a similar thing happening this season if he plays enough games.
However, due to injuries, the Brazilian has been limited to three starts and eight appearances in all competitions this campaign so, at the moment, it appears a departure is on the cards.
