Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman responds to Manchester United and City transfer rumours

Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman has all but ruled out a move away by insisting he is happy where he is amid rumoured interest from Manchester United and City.

The France winger has been in sensational form for the Bundesliga giants this season, scoring five times and registering a further nine assists from 15 games.

United have long been linked with Coman and speculation has intensified in recent weeks with City also said to be interested in him.

The 24-year-old admitted he is flattered to have Premier League teams chasing him but played down any talk of a move away from Bayern.

‘Knowing that good teams are interested in me is good, it gives me extra confidence.,’ Coman told Sport Bild.

‘But I have a contract here until 2023, I only think about Bayern. It’s all good, I’m happy.’

Coman has been one of Bayern’s standout performers this term and is one of the key reasons why Hansi Flick’s men are currently two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.

But he admitted he feared for his place in the team when Leroy Sane was signed from Manchester City.

He added: ‘I had the feeling that I could be used less often. I’m 24, that’s an age I have to play!

‘Fortunately, my fear did not come true.’

Coman’s performances have been so impressive that former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann recently claimed that he is ‘the best winger out there at the moment’.

Hamman even advised his former club Liverpool to make a move for Coman should they need to replace Mohamed Salah, who has courted the idea of joining Barcelona or Real Madrid in the near future.

‘For me, the best winger out there at the moment is Kingsley Coman,’ Hamann told Stadium Astro.

‘He had injury problems when he came to Munich but he got fit and scored the winner in the Champions League final.

‘He’s two-footed, he’s quick, he’s very clever, great decision making and his finishing has improved a lot.

‘Coman is the player. Bayern Munich aren’t interested in losing him, he’s happy.

‘If Salah were to move, if he wants to go, which might be quite likely, that will have a knock-on effect. Liverpool will have to buy somebody. Whoever they sign, that team will need to buy a replacement. Things happen quickly.’
