A closer look at the Rockets’ protest of the Spurs game

Why the NBA shouldn’t overturn San Antonio’s win.

The Spurs have won three of their last four games, but one of those three wins is being questioned. The Rockets have filed a protest of the Spurs’ 135-133 double overtime win because a James Harden dunk was missed by the officials and not counted. While Houston has a legitimate complaint over how that situation was handled, the NBA must decide whether to vacate San Antonio’s win, make them replay a portion of the game, or rule against the protest altogether.

Marilyn Dubinski joins me for episode 47 of the Superfluous Poppycock podcast as we examine Houston’s case, the implications of the Rockets’ requests and the precedents involved, as well as what the NBA could learn from the NFL, how the NBA Coach’s Challenge is in need of a serious overhaul, and what the future of NBA officiating could be.
