49ers Star Trash Talks Cowboys’ Micah Parsons on Instagram

“This is who I wanted,” the quote from the Penn State alum read.

As one would expect, the 49ers most likely used the quote as bulletin board material leading up to the NFL Divisional Round playoff game. However, to the dismay of Parsons, Samuel took it a step further by responding to the quote after the game.

“‘Don’t poke the bear’,” read Samuel’s caption for the post.

Parsons was none too pleased with the post. He took to his own Instagram to respond to the post.

“Lol what did you do today fam lol ?! But congrats on the win ! But don’t put me in this weak ass slide,” Parsons replied in the comments.

Deebo Samuel, the versatile offensive weapon, finished the game with four receptions and 45 receiving yards, as well as 11 rushing yards on four carries. The numbers were objectively below the standard of the star wideout. That, however, did not keep Samuel from responding.

“what did you do is question,” Samuel typed back to Parsons, questioning the First Team All-Pro’s impact on the game.

Parsons finished the night with four tackles (one solo), a pass deflection, and a QB hit. The elite pass rusher had no sacks, however, also a statistic below his standard.

A new era of players also brings a new element of rivalry to the game. In previous decades, players handled most of their conflicts on the field, the other fraction being through interviews. This age of players can take rivalries off of the playing field and to social media for the eyes of fans to see clearly.

The last laugh goes to Samuel, whose team has advanced to the NFC Championship round to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles. Parsons will unfortunately be watching the game from his couch.

Samuel has since taken the post down. It seems his focus has shifted back toward the Eagles and preparing for a bounce-back game against the number one seed of the NFC.
