49ers RB Christian McCaffrey has injury update ahead of NFC Championship Game after missing two straight practices

Christian McCaffrey knows how big of a game this is for both himself and the San Francisco 49ers. With a win against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road, the 49ers will have a chance to win their sixth Super Bowl in franchise history.

For McCaffrey, it’s a chance to not only play in his first Super Bowl but win one after spending the first five-and-a-half seasons of his career toiling in relative obscurity with the Carolina Panthers.

There’s no way the bruised calf that he’s been dealing with is going to keep him out of this one.

After missing two practices in a row, McCaffrey was asked by the media if he could potentially not play against the Eagles.

What are the chances of that?

“Zero,” McCaffrey said, per ESPN’s Nick Wagoner.

McCaffrey hurt the calf in San Francisco’s 19-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round.

The 49ers are a bit banged up heading into this contest. Running back Elijah Mitchell missed Thursday’s practice with a groin injury, and receiver Deebo Samuel, cornerback Ambry Thomas and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu were all limited with their respective injuries. Samuel is dealing with an ankle issue.
