Wizards: John Wall Not Returning This Season
John Wall began scrimmaging in G League practices earlier this month, but donât expect him back on the court for the Wizards should the current season eventually resume.
Washingtonâs braintrust maintatins that the plan is for Wall, 29, to suit up in 2020-21
The five-time NBA All-Star ruptured his Achillesâ at home in January 2019 while recovering from heel surgery; heâs in the first season of a four-year, supermax contract.
Per The WaPo:
With each turn of the calendar, promising signs continued in Wallâs rehabilitation from a Achillesâ tendon injury. Those flashes might have led Washington Wizards fans to envision Wall suiting up for the first time in more than a year if the NBA returns this season.
That wonât happen.
âWeâve said all along that we canât wait until John plays next season, and I think that will still be our attitude and our stance,â Wizards General Manager Tommy Sheppard said in a recent interview.
âWeâre very anxious to see John Wall in uniform next year. I donât think any of this changes that.â
