Spurs Sneaker Watch: Lonnie Walker IV pays tribute to Kobe Bryant with his mismatched adidas Harden, Vol. 4

The Spurs second year guard Is paying tribute to one of the greatest players in NBA history in his own way
The tragic passing of Los Angeles Lakers and long-time Spurs rival Kobe Bryant on January 26, 2020 has inspired a host of tributes around the league for one of the league’s greatest players. Players have taken to wearing selections from Bryant’s Nike shoe line, while another popular method of paying tribute has been to write a message and/or the names of Bryant and his daughter Gianna, who was also taken in the tragedy that killed Bryant and seven other people on that horrific day.
Since at least after the All Star break, 2nd year Spurs guard Lonnie Walker IV has put his own spin on paying tribute to the late Black Mamba. Walker, who has spent much of the year in the mid-price point Harden B/E 3, has taken to wearing two different colorways of the same shoe, this season’s new iteration in the James Harden shoe line, the Harden Vol. 4.
Those colorways? Why, Lakers Purple and Yellow, of course!

Where once players were required to wear shoes with either team colors, black, or white, the new policy now allows them to wear whatever color way they desire, and while my old school mentally means I’m not the biggest fan of players wearing color ways that do not match that of their team’s uniforms, it is still a cool way for them to showcase their unique personalities.
As far as I can tell, both of these color ways are player exclusives. The Harden, Vol. 4 retails at $130 dollars and can be purchased on adidas’ website.
