Spurs Mural Tour Stop #13- 807 S. St. Mary’s

Catch the Big 3 just south of downtown

I had a gig last December and missed my turn. Ends up that it was advantageous as I made the next right on S. St. Mary’s and came across this gem of a Spurs mural.

Local artist Albert Gonzales was commissioned for this piece, you can view his site here. Check it out, he’s extremely talented. His voice as an artist is an important facet to San Antonio’s growing art scene.

There are still so many great pieces of art around town, and my daughter and I are still having a blast. We spent the rest of the afternoon after taking these photos enjoying snacks at the top of the Tower of the Americas. These excursions started out as bonding between the two of us. She now knows the names of all the players and asks questions about the opposing teams when we watch. She insists on my recording each game so we can watch them together the day after.

The Spurs took on a greater meaning for me years ago and now I see that glimmer in her eyes. And for that, I am grateful.

Have a great week, only four more days until the Spurs hit the court.
