Spurs Have 'Not Ruled Out' Offering DeMar DeRozan Max Contract Extension Before Season Starts

The San Antonio Spurs could give DeMar DeRozan a max contract extension before the start of the upcoming season, according to Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News.

Finger writes that Gregg Popovich “genuinely likes the group he has assembled in San Antonio” and values DeRozan’s presence around the team.

The Spurs have yet to offer the 30-year-old DeRozan a contract extension, but the team “have not ruled out the possibility” of doing so before the season starts.

DeRozan has two more years left on his current deal.
