What changes can one player truly make in one season?
Since the NBA announced finalists for June 24th NBA Awards ceremony, PtR has been posting the finalists in each category. We’ve discussed Kia NBA categories Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man, and Defensive Player of the Year.
In the past, the annual awards were handed. But three years ago, the awards took on a ceremonial look without the black-tie only dress code.
Today Spurs fans weigh in on the Kia NBA Most Improved Player category.
Pounders, please vote for one of the noteworthy candidates, or add in your own “fourth” candidate, or go “Spurs only” in the comments.
Kia NBA Most Improved Player
This year’s trio of most improved include De’Aaron Fox from Sacramento Kings, Brooklyn’s D’Angelo Russell, and Toronto Raptor’s Pascal Siakam. As the post season continues the question of whether playoffs can help or hurt a player’s consideration. Fox didn;t make it out of the gate after a standout season in Sacramento. Meanwhile, Siakam’s playing Sancho Panza to Kawhi Leonard. His playoff output has fluctuated. There were even a couple of games where his stock would have trended down.
Who, in you opinion, the Spurs most improved player from last season to this?
Tomorrow: NBA Coach of the Year
The 2019 NBA Awards presented by Kia will take place on Monday, June 24th at 8:00 p.m. CST on TNT.
