South Park Mall will close temporarily amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The shopping center’s management said the decision was made in accordance with the Texas state mandate. The mall will be closed until further notice.

“We have been closely tracking developments related to COVID-19 and have been following the guidance of authorities, ensuring that above all else, our patrons, merchants, and employees are safe and healthy,” Mason Asset Management and Namdar Realty Group said in a statement.

“The situation has indeed evolved, and in accordance with the state mandate and with our community in mind, we have temporarily closed all Texas malls until further notice. We sincerely appreciate our diligent team’s work in maintaining a safe and clean environment over the last few weeks, and we hope to re-open as soon as possible.”

Mason, Namdar, and CH Capital Group partnered to buy the nearly 784,000 square-foot mall in February.

Ingram Park Mall and the San Marcos Premium Outlets shut their doors on March 18.
