The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified the victim.

The driver of the silver SUV, when found, will be charged with failure to stop and render aid, police said.

Two other pedestrians were also hit by cars within 25 minutes of the fatal Sahara Drive incident in separate collisions.

The first occurred at 6:28 a.m. on the 9600 block of Huebner Road. A man wearing dark clothing was walking in the center turn-only lane when a silver Chevrolet Silverado tried to turn into a parking lot and struck him.

Police said they did not know why the man was walking with the flow of traffic on a major roadway. The driver did not see the man until he was a few feet in front of her vehicle, police said, and did not have enough time to avoid the crash.

The man was transported to University Hospital, where was listed in critical but stable condition. The driver stayed on the scene. No criminal charges are pending, police said.

The second collision occurred at 6:51 a.m. on the 7900 block of the Interstate 35 North access road. A 41-year-old man wearing dark clothes was walking in the right lane when a Honda minivan collided with him.

The man went over the car’s hood, broke the windshield, then rolled off and slid on the road. He was transported to University Hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police said the driver did not see him and will not face criminal charges.
