Report: Los Angeles Clippers interested in Jonathon Simmons

After a sensational performance in the Playoffs, the restricted free agent is attracting interest.

It is absolutely no surprise that Jonathon Simmons will be a hot property in the market after his amazing performances replacing the injured Kawhi Leonard in the Playoffs, and we now know the first suitor.

According to Brad Turner of the LA Times, the Los Angeles Clippers have Simmons on thei list of free agent forwards to chase:

Simmons is a restricted free agent, which means the San Antonio Spurs can match any offer sheet from other teams and keep the player on the roster. Now that Chris Paul has signed with the Rockets, the Spurs might not chase a big free agent this summer, and the club could be looking to keep its best players together for one more season.

Simmons is one of the Spurs’ main decisions to make during free agency, and there’s no doubt he’ll get even better learning from Kawhi and continuing to work in the Spurs system. There will be more than just the Clippers’ offer to take him elsewhere, that’s for sure.
