Open Thread: You stay classy, San Antonio

Some advice from Ron Burgundy on how to handle Kawhi Leonard’s return tonight.

In sporting news, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, formerly of the San Antonio Spurs, return to the AT&T Center for the only time this season.

As you may recall, the split between Leonard and the organization started during the previous season while the small forward was recovering from quadriceps tendinopathy. He stayed separate from the team causing a divide that never quite reconnected.

Not to editorialize, but as far as this reporter is concerned, fans need to stay the same honorable and dedicated group they have always been.

This is the first Spurs game of 2019, and it will set the tone for the rest of the season. Players and fans alike should go in with the best attitude possible. You’re hosting a great team with a great coach and overall, great players.

When Mr. Leonard steps onto the court, do not boo or hiss, simply offer his the same silent treatment he offered fans over an entire season.

You don’t have to lose your cool to make your point. 18,000 in silence will offer a clear statement.

Don’t let any one player ruin your game experience. You’ve got fifteen respectable players to root for on your sideline. Support your team, cheer for your players, and hold your heads up high.

You stay classy, San Antonio.
