Open Thread: Tony Parker returns to San Antonio tonight

The active member of the Spurs Big 3 made a one-time appearance last night.

It was weird. Right? It’s just weird. Tony Parker headed into the AT&T Center last night not wearing a silver and black jersey? Even stranger, teal and purple. I mean, those colors shouldn’t even be together in the first place.

It was great to cheer him on. There was no malice or vitriol. No risk of booing or calls of “traitor”. Not that there would be, but . . . well you know how it was when another former Finals MVP arrived.

What a homecoming. And to be honest, after the first game of 2019, this was such a 180. Not that I expected anything but positive vibes in the AT&T Center. Just the contrast was intense.

The game, meh. But Parker on the court.

Head coach James Borrego putting in TP for the last 17 seconds so he could get a proper standing ovation.

And then the hug with Pop. That was the icing on the cake. It was great to be there.

If you were there, contribute your experience from last night in the comments, please. Always good to share how we Pounders are in our natural habitat.
