Open Thread: The Spurs have been immortalized in sherbet

H-E-B has debuted a new flavor from their Creamy Creations line of frozen treats.

To usher in the new season and beloved throwback look, San Antonio Spurs fans can show their team spirit with the new, limited-edition H-E-B Creamy Creations Spurs Sherbet. The Fiesta color-themed sherbet will arrive in San Antonio area stores the week of Jan. 4 and be available while supplies last. As they cheer on the Spurs in their matching City Edition uniforms, fans can “go for three” with a flavor combination of strawberry, orange and blue raspberry sherbet.

The Spurs Sherbet will be available in half-gallon and pint-sizes throughout South and Central Texas including San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, Laredo and surrounding areas.

There is a forthcoming online video featuring Spurs players in their Fiesta colors celebrating the newest locally-churned flavor.

“We know Spurs fans are excited to see the return of the iconic Fiesta colors and we’re thrilled to offer this limited-edition Creamy Creations flavor as the perfect pairing to launch the season,” said Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. “In San Antonio, we all know H-E-B and the Spurs are a winning flavor combination.”

Although their warm-ups in the 90s as well as many apparel pieces have been adorned in the past, this is the first time Fiesta colors have been emblazoned on the official Spurs jerseys.

Fans can visit Spurs.com/CityEdition for a list of dates to enjoy Spurs Sherbet as the team wears the new look on court.

The Iceman will be so proud.
