Open Thread: Spurs earned 1700th road win last Monday in Los Angeles

The Silver & Black are the best road team history

Monday night’s win against LeBron James and the new-look Los Angeles Lakers not only broke the streak that had carried over form last season (before October 22nd the Spurs hadn’t won on the road since February 25th in Cleveland), it was the San Antonio Spurs 1700th road win of all time.

They are just under .500 on the road. At .498, they are the best road team in NBA history. Ironically, the Los Angeles Lakers are just behind them with .483 road percentage.

Not to pile on to the purple and gold, but the Spurs are the only team to have a winning record against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.

Just one more reason to know your Spurs are the best.

As I have been mentioning this week, my band The Gunslingers just booked as the opening act for Monte Montgomery, a true Texas guitar legend (you have to hear “1st and Repair”). I have been a fan for years. I am stoked to be playing with him at Sam’s Burger Joint on Saturday, November 3rd. When you buy your tickets here, send me an email and I’ll put you in the running for some Spurs swag from my personal collection, plus I’ll hand you a copy of our CD at the show. Thanks!
