Open Thread: Sacramento Kings sign Chimezie Metu

Former Spurs’ big man Chimezie Metu has signed with the Sacramento Kings:

Per Kings policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Metu will wear #25 In Sacramento.

With Bryn Forbes moving to the Milwaukee Bucks and Marco Belinelli heading overseas, it looks like all of last year’s Spurs have found homes heading into the 2020-2021 season.

The Kings are already a bit heavy in the front court with Richaun Holmes, Hassan Whiteside, Marvin Bagley III, Nemanja Bjelica, and Frank Kaminsky.

The Athletic reported the signing as a training camp invite, so there is a chance Sacramento’s goal is to eventually offer Metu a G-League spot with the Stockton Kings.

Either way, congratulations are in order as the 49th draft pick of the 2018 NBA Draft has found the next step in his career.
