Open Thread: Rudy Gay grabs his 5,000th career rebound

And joins some elite company in the process.

Last night, Rudy Gay hit the buzzer beater to beat the Phoenix Suns 126-124, so it seems appropriate to mention one of his most recent honors,

This Rudy Gay milestone was acknowledged during Sunday night’s game against the Washington Wizards.

Rudy Gay is only the third player after LeBron James and Russell Westbrook to have 15,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 1,000 steals since 2006.

Rudy’s been lighting it up with the Spurs over the last two seasons and is putting up some of the best shooting percentages of his career. His recovery from the Achilles’ injury a couple of years ago have been remarkable.

So let’s cheer on Rudy as the Spurs face the Brooklyn Nets on the 3rd of game of this final home stand before the annual Rodeo Road Trip.
