Open Thread: Not everyone from the shortened season will return to the Spurs

Here was the Spurs 2019-2020 roster:

Dejounte Murray has the longest contract set to expire in 2024.

Keldon Johnson and Luka Samanic are under contract until 2023 with the team holding options after this season. Lonnie Walker IV is also under a team option until 2022.

Elder statesmen DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay, and Patty Mills have one more year on their contracts, as does Derrick White.

Trey Lyles, Chimezie Metu, and Tyler Zeller have non-guaranteed contracts.

Bryn Forbes, Marco Belinelli, and Jakob Poeltl are all facing free agency.

Jakob Poeltl has received a qualifying offer from the Spurs. So have two-way players Drew Eubanks and Quinndary Weatherspoon.

It is yet to be determined what role Devin Vassell will play this season. Pop’s track record generally doesn’t allow for newbies to see much playing time in the first season. But then again, this is the first lottery pick since Tim Duncan, so we are entering some uncharted territory.

There is a chance that Tre Jones could end up in Austin for a year which would leave room for re-signing a current player, adding a free agent, or making room for a trade.

In the event Poeltl, Eubanks, and Weatherspoon accept offers and the Spurs sign Vassell and Jones, only the two-way contracts remain.

There is a chance the Spurs will not re-sign Forbes or Belinelli and release Zeller, possible even Metu.

How do you see this roster shaping up as free agency continues to loom?
