Open Thread: LeBron faces first round elimination for the first time in his storied career

Game 7 today against the Indiana Pacers

LeBron James has many notches in his belt. One is his ongoing run of 7-straight NBA Finals appearances, a feat no one has accomplished since the 1960s when there were but a mere 14 teams in the league.

Since early in the season, it has been a wide and common belief that the Golden State Warriors would meet the Cleveland Cavaliers for a fourth straight NBA Finals match up.

But tonight, LeBron is in uncharted waters. Struggles throughout this season and specifically this series have pushed it to a Game 7. A loss tonight would be the first time in history the King has had first-round playoff exit.

The Indiana Pacers, led by PG-13 trade victim Victor Oladipo, have wowed the pundits — and themselves — by working a struggling squad into a formidable challenger for the Eastern Conference. They may just be this season’s dark horse.

With all other’s Conference Semi-Finals set, this is the last first round game of the 2018 playoffs.

The Finals landscape may have a different look this June. Expect the unexpected.
