Play SA will improve and rehabilitate parks across San Antonio.

LaMarcus Aldridge is at it again. His goodwill and community service has continued to inspire and support communities throughout San Antonio. The seven time NBA All-Star reached higher to help create a project investing in parks for the City of San Antonio.

The Texas native pitched park improvement back in the fall, and now the launch to this major goal has been set into motion. In total, $1.1M dollars will be invested into park improvements. $500,000 from Spurs Give, $500,000 from the City of San Antonio, and $100,000 directly from Aldridge.

“I try to give back when I can,” stated Aldridge. “This is something that is close to me, my situation and my heart. I just wanted to join in and try to help.”

The money will be distributed over the next four years as needed throughout all districts until it has run out.

LaMarcus, R. C. Buford, Mayor Ron Nirenberg, community leaders, and the citizens who will directly benefit from the improvements were present for a groundbreaking ceremony at Woodard Park.
