Open Thread: Is Kawhi Leoanrd now the best player in the Eastern Conference?

Take out Lebron, replace him with Leonard, and your Eastern Conference can just keep rolling on . . . or can it?

I know Spurs fans are busy planning farewell parties, repainting murals, bagging donations of sub-arctic parkas to send to Canada, and adding their #2 jerseys to the Goodwill box, but this question begs to be asked:

Is it possible that now that LeBron James has moved to Los Angeles that the best player in the Eastern Conference is Kawhi Leonard?

I do remember hearing the question “who is the best player in the Eastern Conference now?” posed on a sports radio show when LeBron took off for Hollywood. All of the viable arguments can still be made. And with Kawhi’s enneadic game season, is it fair to assume he will be the player he was before Zaza Pachulia and Uncle Dennis ruined his career?

What do you think, Pounders?
