NWS: Temperatures will return to 90s by Thursday after cold front moves through San Antonio

Temperatures are expected to warm up later this week after a cool front arrived in the San Antonio area Monday, the National Weather Service said.

According to meteorologists with the NWS, Monday will likely be the coolest day of the week with an expected high of 79. Tuesday will feel similar but slightly warmer at 82 degrees. Later in the week, however, temps will be 88 on Wednesday and 90 on Thursday.

The arrival of the early week cold front included breezy conditions, and the area is under a wind advisory until 1 p.m. The overnight lows will by 54 on both Tuesday and Wednesday and 58 Thursday.

A second cold front is supposed to come through on Friday and into the weekend, though temperatures are likely to remain in the mid 80s with a lot less wind, meteorologists said.

However, the weak southern flow may bring some moisture to the area by the end of Sunday.

Meteorologists said the fronts are pretty typical for this time of year, when the area begins to experience significant cooldowns.
