N’Golo Kante ‘ordered to appear in court amid £3.4m legal battle with former agent’

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been ‘ordered’ to appear in court to help settle a £3.4million legal battle with his former agent.

The Frenchman has been served a summons after a dispute regarding a contract deal between himself and the agent back in 2016.

The World Cup’s winner’s ex-agent Nouari Khiari now alleges that he is owed £3.4m from when Kante signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with adidas, as reported by L’Equipe.

After being unable to come to an agreement between themselves, Khiari filed a summons for Kante to appear in court to settle the dispute. The paperwork was delivered to the 29 year old’s home and the Chelsea headquarters.

Khairi claims he is owed ‘renumeration’ under terms of the Frenchman’s contract and that deal that he signed with sports brand adidas, according to reports.

Kante is believed to have tried to settle the feud outside of court last year after the two parted ways.

Whilst the Frenchman is trying to deal with the situation, he recently returned to the training pitch with Chelsea after expressing his own concerns about restarting the Premier League amid the coronavirus crisis.

Kante continued to train individually whilst the rest of Frank Lampard’s squad began Phase Two of the Project Restart plans, which re-introduces contact training.

Whilst the midfielder is training, Lampard will hold out hope that Kante will be available for the June 17 return date as reports suggest he still feels uneasy around the Premier League’s Project Restart.
