Will San Antonio’s newest signing change course for New York?
Veteran forward Marcus Morris is reportedly reconsidering his commitment to join the San Antonio Spurs and listening to a contract offer from the New York Knicks instead, according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears of ESPN.
In a brief conversation with ESPN, Bauman was complimentary of how the Knicks handled this emerging situation with Bullock. Morris agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal worth the full Mid Level Exception with San Antonio on Sunday afternoon. The eight-year NBA veteran is now reportedly considering a one-year $15 million deal with the Knicks, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

New York wasn’t able to offer Morris that kind of money before, but after reworking their deal with shooting guard Reggie Bullock today, the Knicks have freed up enough cap space to put forth a more lucrative offer.
Marcus Morris Sr. averaged 13.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 44.7-37.5-84.4 shooting splits in 75 games for the Boston Celtics last season. The combo forward holds career averages of 11.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in over 500 career games in the association.
No word yet on if he’s officially reneged his contract with the Spurs in order to pursue a contract with James Dolan and the Knicks next season, but we will update you as news breaks.
