Manu Ginobili describes the ‘home stretch’ before the season

A tired Manu talks about the end of the preseason, and looks forward the season opener.

In his ninth vlog entry, a tired Manu Ginobili explains the dark circles under his eyes and how the Spurs will handle the missing talent for opening night versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. This one is in Spanish, so we’ve got a translation below.

TRANSLATION:

Today is one of those days that I’m very tired. It’s been a while since I’ve been this tired, but intense training met up with a bad night. I stayed up until 3 am and then I couldn’t fall asleep until 5 am. When the alarm went off at 7 am I wanted to kill myself. Oh well, sometimes it happens. So I’m very tired. I’m going to try and take a nap, at least an hour. If I don’t, I will fall asleep before my kids and that would be embarrassing.

In other news, there are 2 days left before the start of the season – the home stretch. So we wanted to train hard today and we did. Tomorrow will be a little less intense and then we will prepare for the game against the Timberwolves, and the season will begin. Unfortunately we will start without Kawhi, Tony too, but we knew we would be without Tony. He has at least a month more, but he’s feeling much better.

With Kawhi, we will see when he is able to return. We’ve been without him the entire preseason, so in a certain way we’re used to not having him. We will not be with all our talent and strength, but we will do as best we can. So, other than my exhaustion and possibly the dark circles under my eyes, I’m happy and excited to start the new season. It was a good preseason, everything went well. There were some good days, others not so good, but we got through it eventually.

Well, so, in 48 hours we will begin.

A big hug to everyone, and I might leave you a short video after the game.

Many thanks to @regarcia80 for the translation.
