Las Vegas Summer League: Spurs vs. Suns Game Thread

Spurs rookies and prospects face the Raptors in Las Vegas

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs blowout win against the Raptors on Monday night turned into a squeaker as they couldn’t solve Toronto’s zone defense and made dumb mistakes like Drew Eubanks’ flagrant foul in the closing minute. But the huge lead that Lonnie Walker IV and company ran up in the first three quarters held up and the Silver and Black escaped with a win to improve to 2-1 in Summer League play.

Tonight’s game is the final game for the Summer League squad before the tournament begins on Friday. A win tonight should give the Spurs a good seeding in the tourney and a decent chance to advance, if they are interested in doing that. There’s a possibility that the Spurs may shut down Walker after his dominant performance on Monday, but the rookie trio of Luka Samanic, Keldon Johnson, and Quinndary Weatherspoon should be active tonight and it will be a great time to see how they are developing. Go Spurs Go!
