July 4th, 2015 will always hold a special place in the memories of Spurs fans as this is the day that ushered in a new era for the silver and black. Not since we drafted David Robinson or Tim Duncan has one player meant so much for our teams future. LaMarcus Aldridge is the biggest free agent pick up the Spurs have ever had. If the breaking news of LaMarcus Aldridge coming to SA did not excite you and send shivers down your spine then I don’t know what will. But with all things, it comes at a price and as a result we lost some of our key role players. To make room for LaMarcus the Spurs traded Tiago Splitter then let Aron Baynes & Marco Belinelli sign with other teams. The one player that we let get away that hurt the most was Corey Joseph who just signed with the Toronto Raptors. With our bench depleted and Manu Ginobili still undecided to play or retire, we need to fill some roster spots ASAP. The Spurs will no doubt have their work cut out for them trying to replenish our bench with quality role players before the season starts. But the future for the Spurs is a bright one as we know who will be picking up the torch when Tim Duncan retires.
