Kerrville toddler’s death ruled as homicide, officials say

The death of a 2-year-old child from Kerrville has been ruled as a homicide by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Kerville police department said in a Facebook post.

The Kerrvile Police Department was called to the 3300 block of Legion Drive on Aug. 6 for a child with injuries, though officials didn’t specify what those injuries were. The child, later identified as Gideon Barideaux, was transported to the Peterson Regional Medical Center before being taken to University Hospital in San Antonio.

Barideaux died Aug. 9. The cause of death was listed as subdural hemorrhage, which can be caused by a head injury.

Kerrville police said they will not release additional information as they continue to investigate.
