The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for Wolves this season, with boss Nuno Espirito Santo using him out wide to help terrorise defences with his pace and efficient use of the ball.

The former Barcelona youngster – who has six goals and 10 assists this season for Wolves- has also reportedly attracted the interest of Manchester City and Manchester United.

Traore joined Wolves in August 2018 for less than £20m from Middlesbrough but his displays over the last 12 months could see that him fetch three times that figure if he leaves Molineux in the summer.

But whether Liverpool would be able to afford such a price remains to be seen with the club feeling the pain of the coronavirus pandemic.

It has meant that the club have also allegedly put high-profile targets such as Timo Werner aside for this summer, with the latest reports suggesting the German will wait a year to seal his Anfield move.

The league leaders are desperate for the season to finish with just two wins needed to confirm their title and avoid any further damage.

Traore has yet to decide if he will represent Spain or Malta at international level.

The winger was all set to make his Spain debut in November last year but had to pull out of the squad due to injury.
