Gregg Popovich explains the Spurs comeback

As San Antonio came back against OKC, Pop told it like it was.

The Spurs played some ugly basketball early on Friday. They turned the ball over to the Oklahoma City Thunder often on their way to a 23-point deficit. But in the second quarter they took better care of the ball and mounted a comeback.

By the end of the third quarter, they’d tied the game just in time for Gregg Popovich to be interviewed by Doris Burke between quarters. When asked how San Antonio had been able to get back in the game, Pop got real:

As ever, Pop talked ball and life simultaneously. The next time you realize you have a “poor me” attitude, get in life’s face, say “screw you” to your obstacles, mount a comeback and win by three points.
