Davis Bertans returns to shoot down Great Britain

Day 5 of Eurobasket proves that Bertans’ tweaked finger isn’t serious.

Eurobasket Report – Bertans in action, Gasol takes Romania game off

Latvia played Great Britain, and Davis Bertans returned to action and delivered one of his most memorable performances in Eurobasket so far. Latvia won 97-92 with Bertans tallying 22 points in 18 minutes, shooting 7/8 from three and setting a new record for his national team. He added 1 rebound and 2 steals, with a team-best +22 — that’s right, the Brits outscored Latvia by 17 while Bertans sat.

Pau Gasol registered a DNP as Spain won 91-50 against Romania, the worst team in Eurobasket. Coach Scariolo decided to rest him for future challenges and also to warm up players that didn’t have enough playing time earlier in the tournament.

Day 4

Joffrey Lauvergne played yesterday against Iceland, in a blowout win. The whole French roster played and managed to score against subpar opposition as French pulled away for the 115-79 victory. Lauvergne scored 13 points, with 2 rebounds and couple of assists in just 14 minutes.
