Date Set For When Clubs Will Vote On ‘Phase Two’ Of The Premier League’s Return

A shareholders meeting between all 20 Premier League clubs will take place next Wednesday with a vote on Phase Two expected to be held, according to reports.

Phase One, where teams returned to small group training, was unanimously backed by every club, but the prospect of a return to full contact group training is likely to prove more controversial.

A number of players have voiced reservations about the lack of social distancing that would result from a return to full training sessions.

However, Germany has already shown the way forward, in terms of clubs quarantining their players and regular testing, in order to make sure no more positive cases of the virus are found.

Whether clubs will voice more concerns over Phase Two when the meeting is held next week, it remains to be seen, but a restart in the domestic season is now expected in mid-June if the safety of the players can be assured.
