 Controlled By the Spirit meets every Wednesday evening at Oakhills Church-Westside, 321 N. General McMullen. The program is a faith-based 12-step and harm reduction support group for people and their families suffering from the effects of drug addiction and other problems.  Stroke Support Group meets the third Thursday of every month at Southwest General Hospital, Classroom A, 7400 Barlite Blvd. Meetings are 2-3 p.m. Light refreshments served. The group aims to support stroke survivors and their families and caregivers. Guest speakers will present sessions related to stroke recovery.  Highland Park Neighborhood Association meets at 6:30 p.m. Bode Community Center, 901 Rigsby Ave. City of San Antonio Senior Planner Shepard Beamon will discuss Highland Park’s profile and priorities. Ballet SA teaching artists present a 25-minute performance, an introductory ballet class, and a brief Q&A. “Galileo and the Wonders of the Telescope” showcases the beginning of Galileo’s interest in the stars and how his story evolves to inventing the telescope.
