The San Antonio Spurs head coach Greg Popovich gave an update on the possible return of his super star point guard Tony Parker before Sunday’s game against the Houston Rockets. Coach Pop was quoted as saying “He saw the doctor with the MRI, and it’s basically going to be his confidence level, how he feels in a couple of workouts,” Popovich said. “But so far, the MRI looks good, but he’s got some (swelling) in there. It’s very painful. We’ll just see how his body works through that. But it’s not going to be a very long time. These four days (off) were very important for him.” Coach Pop went on to say that the injury suffered by Tony is “very painful” but he was hopeful that his six time All Star point guard would be back soon. If the Spurs hope to get back to their championship form they need everyone healthy as the Southwest division is one of the toughest in the NBA.
