Being Thankful for the San Antonio Spurs

Happy Thanksgiving, Pounders!

At this point in the season, it may be difficult for Spurs fans to find something to be thankful for. But remember we still have: (1) the memory of 22 straight years of winning; (2) likable and exciting players during those 22 years, including the Big Three (3), who won more regular season games and more playoff games than any threesome ever; (4) the best NBA coach ever; (5) an excellent front office, and (6) being part of a passionate and knowledgeable fan base. And, of course, the Coyote. So Happy Thanksgiving, Spurs fans.

At various points during the last season, we ran three polls: Favorite ex-Spur still in the NBA, favorite all-time Spur, and favorite present day Spur. I don’t think we need to re-do the first two polls, as I don’t think the winners will change (Danny Green and My Man Manu Ginobili). However, for favorite present Spur, that is certainly something that can change from season-to-season, especially now that Manu is no longer playing.

Note that this is NOT a vote for who you think is the best player on the present Spurs roster. Instead, who do you like the best and root for the hardest when they are in the game? Put another way, who are you most thankful for? Once again, we will include only players, and not anyone on the coaching staff (with all due respect to Pop, Becky, TD and Chip, among others).
