Becky Hammon won’t be leaving the Spurs to be the Milwaukee Bucks’ General Manager

She didn’t get the job, which is good news for us!

Do you remember the Milwaukee Bucks were searching for a new General Manager and they interviewed San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon for the job? Turns out Becky didn’t get the job.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Bucks will name John Horst as the new GM. Horst is the current director of basketball of operations in Milwaukee and has been part of the organization for a long time, and will now be the boss over there.

Horst was one of three finalists for the GM job, along with Bucks assistant GM Justin Zanik and Denver Nuggets executive Arturas Karnisovas. Karnisovas decided to take a promotion in Denver, which opened the way for Horst to be chosen as the new Bucks GM.

What does this mean for Hammon’s future? Hopefully it means that Becky will be staying on as Gregg Popovich’s assistant and will continue to learn from him, which is good new for her and for Spurs fans.
